So, last year shortly after my collection of poems came out, a friend and reader linked me up with the magazine Symposeum as a contributor. They were a wonderful bunch to work with - and I quickly found myself highly engaged with their process. In Issue #3, You'll find the poem I worked on with them as well as the work of a couple other folk I brought with me, the incredible Jesse Graves and William Tripp Woolf. However - because I really enjoyed the way they worked, I ended up staying on as what began as a guest editor and gradually grew to my position as a Senior Editor.
Now, Issue #4 is out - and I'm proud to say that I think it is incredible. It's full of incredible talents such as Richard Jackson, Kathleen Driskell, Jessie Janeshek, Christian Collier, Christian Swafford, Travis Payne, Vanessa Anderson, Alex Quinlan, Matt Urmy, and more. The design is beautiful. Editor-in-chief Ali Kominsky did outstanding work and so did the rest of the editorial staff. We have incredible work from Ukranian poets that we were able to present both in English translation and in the original Ukranian. I feel like now that we're done and presenting it - everything went right with this issue.
Please - check it out. There is so much to enjoy. If you do like our online face - be aware: there is a beautiful print version. We're taking pre-orders now. It is important to the mission of Symposeum that our work always be freely accessible to anyone - which is why the online version is free - but the print sales are crucial to our continued survival. I think we're fighting the good fight and doings something of real value. I hope you do too. Please - buy the issue or subscribe to the magazine - your support is our survival!
